My Grandma eating With the Devil

An acrylic painting of my great-grandma eating with her husband in July. Made in 2021.

Using the artist Paul Cezanne’s art style as inspiration, I decided to put my spin on it and paint a photo of my great-grandma. I never got to know her before she passed and I regret that so much. Being able to paint her felt like a gateway to what I wish I could’ve done when I was younger, which was to properly introduce myself. The muted blue tones are associated with sadness from a different time, while also indicating the type of day it was for her in the photo. So, meet my great-grandma.
